Newsletter from 24.02.2026
Dear interested parties in the precious metals markets,
In a few weeks' time, Frankfurt will once again be the meeting place for decision-makers, market participants and experts from the world of precious metals. With the FutureForum Precious Metals 2026, we are creating a framework in which investment, industry, trade and politics can engage in a structured and fact-based discussion.
Our claim is clear: more than „just“ buzzwords, but substance instead. That is why we have put together a programme that highlights market analyses, strategic perspectives and industrial policy issues in equal measure - with voices from central banks, international organizations, industry, asset management and academia.
We are delighted to be able to present the program to you in this special newsletter. We also look forward to welcoming you to Frankfurt and to discussing the prospects for gold, silver and the platinum group metals together.
With best regards from Frankfurt
Wolfgang Wrzesniok-Roßbach & Corinna Schmitz
for the organization team of the FutureForum Precious Metals
Day 1 - Investment + Markets (Monday, March 23, 2026)
The first day of the conference will focus on „Investment + Markets“. After the opening by Wolfgang Wrzesniok-Roßbach, Ruth Crowell, CEO of the London Bullion Market Association, will give an overview of the situation in international precious metals trading. This will be followed by a macroeconomic assessment by Jürgen Michels, Chief Economist at BayernLB, and a capital market perspective by Philipp Vorndran, Partner at Flossbach von Storch. John Reade from the World Gold Council analyzes the current situation on the gold market.
In the afternoon, the focus will be on specific investment issues: Dierk Schaffer (Boerse Stuttgart Commodities) will discuss „Gold on paper - an alternative?“, Constantin Prinz zu Salm-Salm will shed light on the tangible asset forest in the context of gold, and a panel discussion will be dedicated to institutional investment decisions. Dr. Karsten Stromborn (Deutsche Bundesbank) will give the audience an insight into the financial markets and gold from a central bank perspective. The programme will be complemented by contributions on the tokenization of gold (Dr. Philipp Reisert, C.Hafner) and on the market situation for silver and platinum metals by Junlu Liang (Metals Focus) and Beresford Clarke (SFA Oxford).
Day 2 - Prospects for trade + industry (Tuesday, March 24, 2026)
The second day will focus on the industry, raw materials policy and structural issues for the future. York A. Tetzlaff (Fachvereinigung Edelmetalle) will open with a status report on the industry in Germany and Europe. In the session on raw materials strategy, Stefan Müller (DGWA) will discuss the German perspective, Erik Kirschbaum (Los Angeles Times / WELT) will look at the USA and Dr. Christoph Hein (FAZ PRO Weltwirtschaft) will discuss developments in China.
Mining, recycling and industrial applications will take center stage. Peter Tallmann (Klondike Gold Corp.) will talk about exploration potential, while the panel discussion will shed light on recycling as a strategic resource. Tim Schwerdtfeger (Volkswagen AG) will explain the management of precious metal risks in the industry, Joachim Dünkelmann will analyze the situation of the jewelry industry under high volatility, and Hans-Werner Grunow (Capmarcon) will classify ESG requirements. Finally, future topics such as a possible German bullion coin and trends in marketing and value logistics will be discussed.
Partner stage on the 3rd floor
Parallel to the main program, the partner stage offers additional specialist in-depth information. Here, companies and institutions will present practical insights into their respective fields of activity. Contributions will come from BayernLB, represented by Michael Eubel, Reisebank, Cinovo (Harry Fix), Scheer IDS (Stephan Koob), Solit Management (Tim Schieferstein) and Tradium, among others.
International perspectives are also represented: With Claire Lincoln, Global Head of Institutional Investor, the World Gold Council is contributing an institutional market perspective. The partner stage thus creates a space for specific application questions, market mechanisms and operational experience along the entire value chain.
Supporting program and networking
The optional preliminary program begins on Sunday, 22 March, with two excursions: a tour of the Fortuna visitor mine in Obersolms or, alternatively, a visit to the Tradium storage bunker for strategic and precious metals. Both formats combine professional insights with personal exchanges in small groups.
The Welcome Reception in the NFT Skybar on the 47th floor of Tower One will kick things off on Sunday evening. On both days of the conference, the sundowner receptions in Kap Europa invite you to wind down. A special highlight is the official conference dinner as a dinner skyline cruise on the Main on board the MS Nautilus - a deliberately chosen setting for in-depth discussions away from the stage.
